Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Dang, dang, dang.  Bah.  Rubbish!  Hogan!  Bilgewater!  Ugh.  I snapped off a bolt while tightening the oil drain pan.  I had the torque wrench set for 9 foot pounds, and one bolt didn't seem to get tighter.  Fearing that the big torque wrench wasn't sensitive enough at 9 ft lbs, I put on the smallest socket handle I had.  The bolt was, indeed, loose.  I tightened it up, then went a little more, and pop!  I almost cried.  I felt like I was being unethical towards the VFR, or dishonest.  So I did the next best thing:  Mixed up some JB weld and jammed the bolt back in there.  We'll see what happens.  At worst, it will leak oil and I'll have to take the pan off, use an easy out on the bolt, and do it all again.  At best, I'll just have some guilt for a time.  Daaaaaaaaaaaaa!   I am so embarrassed.

While that does eat hogan, it seems like you have a pretty good plan to get it taken care of. I hope this means that you're getting her all back together and will be filling her up with oil soon! I hope the repair is successful. You've put a lot of thought into this one.
